Our Story
From a single drawing board to a global practice.
Aurora began in a small studio in 2008, with a conviction that architecture should serve people first. What started as a handful of residential commissions has grown into a practice spanning three continents and every scale of the built environment.
Yet our method hasn't changed. We still begin every project by hand, in conversation and on paper — understanding a site before we shape it, and a client before we design for them.
Today, a close-knit team of architects, interior designers, engineers and planners carries that ethos into homes, workplaces, hotels and civic spaces around the world.

The studio opens
Aurora is founded in New York with three architects and a first residential commission on Long Island.
2013
First landmark award
Our Solstice House earns international recognition, establishing the studio's voice in modern residential design.
2017
Expanding disciplines
We open dedicated interior design and urban planning practices, becoming a fully integrated studio.
2021
Going global
New satellite studios in Lisbon and Singapore extend our work across fourteen countries.
